Applications Programming Supervisor supervises the teams and daily activities needed for the analysis, testing, coding, and implementation of applications. Monitors operational metrics and processes and implements standard methodologies, tools, and best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables. Being an Applications Programming Supervisor supports multiple development projects with scheduling, planning, and resource allocation. Conducts feedback processes, including peer reviews, code reviews, and design reviews. Additionally, Applications Programming Supervisor fosters a performance culture using individual and team coaching and mentoring to achieve excellence. May supervise vendors or off-shore resources. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Applications Programming Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be an Applications Programming Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.       REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction

      AVAILABLE: Full-time, full year (260 contract days) position available July 1, 2022. Eight hours per day includes a 1/2 hour unpaid lunch. 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

      SALARY & BENEFITS: Annual salary to be determined by qualifications and experience. Range: $40,000 - $55,000. Position includes full family medical benefits.

      Job Summary:

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

      • Provide support for the Student Information software package (Infinite Campus) for the public-school districts in Monroe County.
      • Conduct on-site visits to school districts as needed to provide ongoing customer support for the student information system.
      • Provide training, both in a group setting and on an individual basis for new personnel in the
        student information system applications for required state reporting, federal reporting, and MI Data Hub modules.
      • Participate in local user group meetings for student information system applications.
      • Establish and maintain a positive and productive working relationship with intermediate and local
        district staff.
      • Consult with the vendor support to request technical solutions to specific user needs
      • Assist all departments with data collection and compilation for reports from the student information system.
      • Provide database and ad hoc report writing assistance and troubleshooting to ISD and local district staff.
      • Provide technical documentation for student information system applications and state and federal reporting.
      • Develop documentation of different beginning of year, end of year, and state and federal reporting processes.
      • Compile data for state and federal reporting.
      • Maintain confidentiality of school district records.
      • Valid driver's license.
      • Maintain regular, predictable in-person attendance and punctuality.
      • Adhere to MCISD Guidelines and Policies.
      • Follow work rules.
      • Assume other duties as assigned.

      Qualifications:


      EDUCATION:
      • Associate's Degree in technology or related field required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.

      EXPERIENCE:
      • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in customer service, technology support and training.
      • Knowledge and experience with Infinite Campus student information system, preferred.
      • Knowledge and experience with K-12 Michigan State reporting.
      • SQL experience, preferred.

      SKILLS/OTHER:

      • Ability to communicate clearly and tactfully on the telephone, in person or while training.
      • Ability to analyze, diagnose and resolve customer problems.
      • Ability to write reports.
      • Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
      • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy, required.
      • Ability to take initiative and work independently or in a team environment.
      • Ability to handle a wide variety or situations with professionalism.
