Applications Support Technician provides technical support to the team responsible for a subset of business systems applications. Provides assistance in one or all areas of applications programming that includes testing, design and analysis. Being an Applications Support Technician assists in the formulation of procedures and best practices for users of applications. Typically requires an associate degree or its equivalent. Additionally, Applications Support Technician typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Applications Support Technician possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.   • Job Summary

    The Dispensing Support Applications Engineer is the customer-facing engineer for demos, system buyoffs, system/process development and troubleshooting. Customer interactions include pre-sales support, machine demonstration and buyoffs, and post-sales support which includes troubleshooting. Primary duties include being responsible for customer support calls, customer process evaluations, preparing an evaluation report based on the tests and configuring systems to be quoted. In addition, this role will be responsible for providing solutions to machine issues and interact with customers for higher level process support.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Communicates with customers verbally and via email to understand the project requirements
    • Conducts system demos at the office either with the customer present or by building parts and returning finished parts with a detailed report
    • Develops and optimizes applications that effectively accomplish client objectives and user needs
    • Acts as a technical advisor to Sales and Service groups
    • Prepares system configurations to be quoted
    • Interacts with the overseas factory for new project and process requirements
    • Provides post-sales process and system support
    • Troubleshoots machine issues over the phone or on customer floor
    • Demonstrates demos at tradeshows
    • Provides contributions to the system manuals and other forms of documentation
    • Acts as a resource for the sales team during customer meetings
    • Collects feedback opportunities for hardware and software improvements

    Experience and Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Chemistry or Computer Engineering or related field preferred
    • 2-3 years of fluid applications/process engineering or field where interacting with customers in technical projects preferred
    • Industry-specific experience and familiarity in Conformal Coating or SMT processes
    • Experience in working with chemicals and solvents preferred
    • Understanding of basic electronics to be used during troubleshooting
    • Strong customer service, sales, and marketing experience skills
    • Highly organized and detail-oriented
    • Adept and effective communicator
    • Creative, analytical, and driven
    • Thrives in a fast-paced work environment
    • Enjoys problem-solving and collaboration
    • Ability to speak Spanish or Chinese is a plus

    Working on customer projects and machines requires exposure to environments where chemicals or solvents are used. Proper PPE and ventilation is provided.
