The Applications Engineer (AE) provides technical product application support to Click Bond (CB) customers. Primarily located on site at the Click Bond office, this role is focused on collaborating with customers to find the ideal portfolio solution for their applications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as a primary technical authority for answering product support questions from the customer.
- Work closely with the customer to analyze customer applications, capture all relevant customer requirements, and determine feasibility of current CB products to meet those requirements.
- Recommend innovative technology solutions to meet the customer requirements when current CB products do not provide an adequate solution or meet the technical requirements needed.
- Coordinates with the BEX team with product and solutions information to facilitate marketing campaigns.
- Works closely with the rest of the organization to ensure the successful commercialization of current and new products.
- Assist the rest of the commercial team with documenting the business case for the pursuit of new opportunities with engineering development and investment of resources.
- Help prepare and distribute content and materials used for customer training and may provide specific field training when necessary.
- Collect and document detail customer requirements for emerging applications and new customer needs.
- Recommend and help with the development of new engineering solutions based on customer needs and emerging technology trends.
- Troubleshoot/Solve customer engineering issues with current CB products, or through the application development of new products to meet the requirements of the customer.
- Travels periodically to meet customers, participate in trade shows or industry events.
- Work with the CB prototype shop, outside vendors, and various CB entities as necessary to provide customers with samples or prototypes.
- Add/Track/Maintain all new business opportunities within SalesForce (CRM tool).
- Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
- Assist in maintaining clean, orderly and hazard-free work areas.
- Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate CB policies and procedures.
- Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be detail oriented.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate the following competencies:
- Experience with custom engineered technical products a must.
- Strong association with Aerospace, Marine, Military, and Automotive markets is highly preferred.
- Robust working knowledge of CB products and materials, their use cases, and their value propositions is highly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as aerospace procedures, blueprints, engineering requirements, statements of work, engineering test reports, etc.
- Passionate customer service disposition to ask appropriate questions, gather relevant information, and provide accurate detailed responses to customers with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with all facets of the organization including engineering, sales, manufacturing, and quality personnel.
- Analytical mindset to seek win-win solutions.
- Detail oriented with the ability to drive multiple projects concurrently.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to support the writing of reports, business correspondence, test plans, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, clients, customers, and the public.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
COMPUTATIONAL SKILLS
- Working understanding of mechanical/chemical/material properties, units of measure and unit conversions between English and Metric.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SalesForce or similar programs.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to define problems, collect data, draw valid conclusions, establish requirements, and develop the solution concept based on those requirements.
- Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and/or deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- B.S. Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or closely related technical field, or equivalent experience in application development engineering.
- Minimum three years of experience ideally with aerospace fasteners, aerospace field applications, aerospace mechanical engineering component development, or other relevant experience.
