Applications Systems Analyst analyzes, designs, and troubleshoots an organization's information technology systems and processes to enhance efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness. Being an Applications Systems Analyst tests and evaluates the compatibility and integration of new systems with existing infrastructure, networks, and applications. Additionally, Applications Systems Analyst supports management with project planning, risk assessment, and project tracking to deliver timely IT solutions within budget. May create coding and logic specifications for developers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Applications Systems Analyst work is closely managed.   • Position Summary:
     
    • This procedure describes the basic functions, reporting relationships, authority, and responsibilities of the Tech Support Engineer I at S&P USA.
    • The Job Description provides the performance criteria for the position. It also states the Job Requirements as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act.
    • The person occupying the position of Tech Support Engineer I is responsible for providing customers with technical information, pricing assistance, proposals, application assistance, troubleshooting, field problems, etc. This position also provides after sale support through the management of order processes and supervises product coordination, on time delivery, order tracking, customer support interaction, and to meet the requirements of the project and customer.
     
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
     
    • Provide technical support to customers, contractors, engineers and end users using phone/email/chat. This will include motor wiring questions, applications, troubleshooting, and overall support.
    • Analyze and comprehend blueprints and other documentation to prepare cost, materials, and product estimates.
    • Coordinate with other departments to obtain answers to field issues.
    • Provide customers, engineers, architects, and contractors with general ventilation guidelines and quotes as needed for replacement and design projects.
    • Report on market changes and product trends as well as product requirements for customer requests.
    • Provide cross references to customers for competitive products.
    • Help to determine root causes of failures or recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods, using statistical data.
    • Observe all company policies and procedures.
    • Must be able to work additional hours to support the organization’s needs.
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Customer Experience.
     
    Educational Requirements:
     
    • At least three (3) years of related experience and /or training, or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a four (4) year college or university.
    • Proficiency in the Windows environment and the Microsoft Office Suite required.
    • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including database integration, formulas and pivot tables required.
    • Ability to use and maintain web-based sourcing tools.
    • Ability to read and interpret English documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to write routine reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
     
    Mental Requirements:
     
    • Ability to communicate in English (read, write and speak) is required as the overwhelming majority of customers, vendors, co-workers, and suppliers communicate in this language.
    • Reasoning ability is required to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
    • Mathematical abilities to calculate figures and amounts, such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume and to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
    Physical Requirements:
     
    • The physical demands of the position are listed in accordance with the requirements of the ADA as:
    Standing – up to one fourth of the time.
    Walking – up to one fourth of the time.
    Sitting – up to three fourths of the time.
    Talking/Listening – up to three fourths of the time.
    Use of hands – up to three fourths of the time.
    Climb or Balance – up to one fourth of the time.
    Stoop or Kneel – up to one fourth of the time.
    Reach with arms – up to one fourth of the time.
    • Body movements, lifting and exerting force – 50 pounds.
    • The Senses necessary for the successful performance of this position are:
    Hearing – the ability to communicate effectively.
    Vision – the ability to record and prepare reports.
    • The ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as eye protection, back protection, ear protection, etc. as necessary or required.
    • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
    • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
     
    Environmental Conditions:
     
    The environmental conditions of the area in which the person shall perform his/her duties consist of ambient temperature variations, dust, fumes, and elevated noise levels found in a manufacturing environment in this geographical area.
    Reporting Relationships:
     
    The Tech Support Engineer I is selected by, and reports directly to the Director of Customer Experience.
     
    Authority:
     
    The Tech Support Engineer I has full operating authority to fulfill the responsibilities of the position as described in the Essential Duties and Responsibilities section of this Operating Procedure.
     
    Performance Criteria:
     
    • Perform each essential function listed in the Essential Duties and Responsibilities section satisfactorily.
    • All company policies and procedures are followed.
