Applications Systems Analyst analyzes, designs, and troubleshoots an organization's information technology systems and processes to enhance efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness. Uses defined policies and procedures to evaluate and design new IT systems or enhance existing systems to integrate with current and future needs. Being an Applications Systems Analyst tests and evaluates the compatibility and integration of new systems with existing infrastructure, networks, and applications. Designs models and utilizes analysis and solution development methods, including process maps, flow charts, and diagrams. Additionally, Applications Systems Analyst supports management with project planning, risk assessment, and project tracking to deliver timely IT solutions within budget. May create coding and logic specifications for developers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Applications Systems Analyst work is closely managed.     Summary:

    Under general direction, the Systems Analyst is responsible for the design, implementation, training, documentation, operation, and support of the assigned applications. Acts as a business liaison to the end-user departments within Middlesex Health System. Team player who assists client departments by analyzing data, processes, and needs of the department and proactively makes process re-design recommendations to improve performance. Acts as a technology scout for end-user departments.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    4 years experience in the implementation and support of Financial/Clinical applications, preferably in a healthcare environment. Must be proficient in system design, analysis, testing, and project management methodologies. Demonstrated experience building reports using tools such as Crystal Reports, MS SQL, Cache, and/or Oracle. PC software skills such as Microsoft Access, Excel and Project. Bachelor of Science degree preferred in computer science or related area. Relevant experience can be substituted for college degree. Demonstrated written and verbal communications skills.
