Applications Programmer - School of Continuing Education (Hybrid)
About Cornell University’s School of Continuing Education
Cornell University’s School of Continuing Education (SCE) dates back to 1876 and is dedicated to extending Ezra Cornell’s vision of an institution “where any person can find instruction in any study” to include “at any time, in any place.” The School was described by Cornell President Jacob Gould Schurman in his 1892 report to trustees as an “integral part of the university,” and was one of the first official summer programs offered in the United States.
Thanks to its partnerships across the university and with eCornell, SCE makes available Cornell’s life-changing programs, remarkable faculty, and vast resources to over 6,400 traditional and non-traditional students from around the world each year, from high school and college students to executives, retirees, area residents, and Cornell faculty and staff.
SCE’s innovative programs typically take place on campus and online, with special programs based in other domestic locations, including New York City. Credit-bearing courses and classes of varying lengths are offered to serve the needs of SCE’s diverse students. Learning options include acclaimed summer and winter sessions, year-round part-time study, precollege programs, and professional studies.
In Fiscal Year 2022-23, SCE mounted more than 400 classes and programs, enrolled, and registered more than 5,600 students, and collected approximately $31 million in tuition, program fees, gifts, and other resources.
In addition, SCE is launching a new online part-time bachelor’s degree program for non-traditional students, working closely with Cornell’s Provost, the Vice Provost for External Education, the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education, and an advisory board of Cornell faculty members.
