Leads operation of the support teams responsible for providing 24/7 enterprise-wide support of various IT-supported clinical ancillary and clinical and miscellaneous application systems and departments. This position is responsible for developing and leading the strategies and tactics of multiple applications teams to create a responsive and agile organization and for working collaboratively across various teams, both inside and outside of IT, to ensure smoothly operating application systems and processes to meet the needs of IT customers. This position is responsible for ongoing integration of various systems and information to support improved effectiveness and efficiency throughout the organization, reduce duplicate entries of information and improve information available for reporting and decision support. Evaluates contracts and ensures the development of scope, budget and project plans for all application installations or system builds/enhancements and works towards enterprise-level agreements whenever possible. Position interacts with and coordinates University of Florida and Shands customer departments across the UF Health enterprise and interacts with and coordinates various user groups and individuals, including physicians and other clinicians. Will deal with confidential data and requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with various levels of employees and staff within the organization. Responsible for ensuring their IT teams stay within their budgets and for management and tracking of both resources and expenses. Out-of-town travel is occasionally required and there is a requirement for on-call director-level rotation, using a cell phone or pager on a periodic basis.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

• Associate's degree required at a minimum. Bachelor's or master's degree in business or information technology field preferred.
• Two years of experience may substitute for a year of education.
• Seven to ten years of experience in information services and/or higher education and/or health care, with at least four years of experience in application supervisory position. Clinical systems experience preferred and Epic experience is a plus.
• The knowledge necessary to do the job requires keeping current with technology in the area of specialization through reading of periodicals in the field and occasional attendance at technical and/or professional seminars and courses.
• Must possess a thorough understanding of hospital operations.
• Must demonstrate experience with various application systems and platforms.
• Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment to achieve corporate objectives.
• Communication, travel and on-call requirements.

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:

• Employees in this position will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a "non-frequent driver."

NOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job.
