APPRAISAL MANAGER leads a team of appraisers conducting assessments, valuations, and appraisal reviews of real estate, land, and other personal property to establish the market value generally used for lending, insurance, or other purposes. Establishes processes for conducting on-site inspections of property and data collection required to perform valuations. Being an APPRAISAL MANAGER follows generally accepted appraisal practice concepts and practices to perform data analysis, develop valuation estimates, and write comprehensive reports and exhibits. Ensures appraisal documentation and appraiser certification comply with all regulations. Additionally, APPRAISAL MANAGER performs appraisal quality reviews to ensure appropriate valuation and minimize risk. Creates process efficiencies with appraisal software tools and databases. May require a bachelor's degree. Has the Member of the Appraisal Institute (SRPA) or similar designation. Requires a State Appraiser License. Typically reports to a director. The APPRAISAL MANAGER manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an APPRAISAL MANAGER typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Summary:

    SUMMARY: The Appraisal Coordinator performs a variety of administrative activities supporting the assigned department. The incumbent is responsible for facilitating the daily work flow of appraisal requests, external evaluations and reviews. The Appraisal Coordinator acts as a liaison to appraisers, lenders, and facilitates departmental staff communication efforts. Also, the incumbent is accountable for providing clerical services including maintaining departmental files and records via an appraisal management system, processing invoices, gathering documents needed for individual tasks, and producing reports.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Process incoming requests for third party appraisals by reviewing the property and loan information, define the scope of work, solicit bids and engage a qualified appraiser; mediate any issues that arise during the course of an assignment and provide timely communication to the lending staff.
    • Communicate with bank lending staff and appraisers on a daily basis. Serve as a contact person for all questions related to appraisals. Maintain a positive working relationship with lending staff and appraisers.
    • Process appraisal requests and properly close out the file.
    • Perform compliance reviews on residential appraisals.
    • Process invoices for third-party appraisals and other vendor invoices.
    • May provide research assistance to the appraisal review staff.
    • Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • 1 year of administrative experience required.
    • Associates degree preferred.
