We are seeking a Design Drafter to join our team! This position will design and develop CAD models and drawings for new and existing products and work closely with engineering and production to ensure drawings and dimensions are correct. The ideal candidate should possess a working knowledge of SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Excel, and Windows software. Along with this they should show a willingness to learn and grow within a multi-functional team environment.

This is a full-time position located in Peru, IN. Hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Complete clear and accurate advanced mechanical drawings from Project Engineer’s mark-ups and other sources
• Design parts within general product guidelines and confirm dimensions on prototype parts. Also required to do fitment test on preliminary prototype parts
• Design and assemble prototype wiring harness
• Assist with checking of production/catalog drawings before release, to ensure compliance of the latest drafting and manufacturing standards
• Complete duties with minimal guidance from Project Engineer and Drafting Supervisor
• Adhere to drafting and engineering standards when completing drawings, 3D models , and other related documents
• Use copier, fax machine, laminator, plotter, printer, scanner, digital camera and other office equipment, as needed
• Interact with personnel including vendors and departments outside of engineering
• Understand the advanced functions of the following office software- Word and Excel.  Use one or all to complete engineering documentation
• Research, create and structure part numbers and bill of material structures in Avante software.
• Create and revise rating labels using Loftware software
• Update and maintain information for drawings, engineering notices, and 3D models/drawings in Engineering Document Manager software
• Update and maintain project billing information in Project Billing Manager software
• Create and revise rendered files for Installation and Operating manuals using Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop software
• Create and revise advanced 2D drawings using AutoCAD software
• Design parts, create and revise 3D models (parts and assemblies) and associated drawings from Project Engineer’s mark-ups using SolidWorks software.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED);  Associate Degree in Engineering/Drafting field from a college/technical school; Minimum of three years design or design related experience
• Effective communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with different teams
• General mechanical knowledge of pipe fittings, welding symbols and general sheet metal fabrication
• Self-starter that is goal oriented
