The Drafter role is critical to provide support to the Engineering and Sales teams using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software by creating or modifying engineering drawings, BOM's, routings and quoting custom assemblies.
Responsibilities- Build and maintain QuickCable CAD component libraries.
- Create, organize, and maintain full project document packages including assembly drawings, bills of materials, test procedures, and Engineering Change Orders (ECO's)
- Issue Engineering Change Notices (ECN's) to alert other teams of changes
- Interpreting customer drawings and re-drawing with QuickCable components
- Define and/or adhere to engineering standard procedures
- Create Bills of Materials and Routings in an ERP system
- Support the Sales and Customer Service teams by answering product questions
- Provide material estimates/quotes to the sales team for custom customer assemblies
- Investigate concerns/questions from our customers (through the sales team) and provide technical feedback
- Investigate concerns and questions from shop personnel and provide technical feedback
- Aid in regulatory compliance duties
Requirements- Associates degree in Computer Aided Design or equivalent experience
- 2-4 years of experience drafting & designing in a manufacturing work environment or university setting
- Proficiency in creating and maintaining Bills of Material and Manufacturing Routings within an ERP environment
- AutoCAD proficiency required, 3D software a plus
- Self-motivated, detail-minded, achievement-oriented
- Strong communication skills (verbal & written)
