We are seeking an experienced Architectural CAD / BIM Technician to join the Hobbs Black team.
The Architectural CAD / BIM Technician will be technically proficient in 2D and 3D modeling software. This position will be responsible for the creation and development of architectural drawings for construction for a broad range of architectural projects. Post-graduate technical architectural work experience is required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Effectively communicate and coordinate with project team, consultants, and clients.
Prepare complex architectural construction drawings for new construction, renovation, and adaptive reuse projects.
Maintain project schedules, cost projections, and budget estimates.
Conduct site planning and zoning research.
Attend planning and zoning, and/or municipal meetings.
Develop technical solutions for projects.
Develop and draft architectural plans and details.
Preparation of bid packages.
Perform construction administration tasks, including submittal review, fieldwork, and documentation.
Maintains and complies with Hobbs Black and client project standards.
Competent project time and expense documentation skills.
Reports to the studio leader and/or principal in charge of assigned project.
Education and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree of Architecture or related field with architecture experience.
6 years of professional postgraduate technical architectural work experience is required.
Technical knowledge and proficiency in the development, coordination, and review of architectural construction drawings and documentation.
Skilled technical proficiency in Revit.
Technical proficiency in Architectural CAD.
Technical problem-solving skills.
Proficient in building codes and ADA requirements.
Knowledge of the architectural and construction administration process.
Effective communication skills.
Must be organized and detailed oriented with time management skills sufficient to meet project deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams.
Architectural license preferred or equivalent experience.
Must be able to appear in-office 3 days per week.
