Job Title: Architectural Drafting Technician

Start Date: (as soon as) April 22, 2024

Work Schedule: Mon-Thurs: 7 am – 5 pm & Fri: 7 am - 11 am
Lunch Break: 12 pm - 1 pm
Mid-morning and mid-afternoon 10-minute breaks are also provided.
A part-time position may be available as well – hours may be flexible.

Location: 492 N Wilson Street, Crestview, Florida 32536 – no remote work available.

We are conveniently located near several restaurants to enjoy during the lunch hour.

Summary: The Drafting Technician will work closely with other drafters on designing and completing residential and commercial projects (see tasks below).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: other duties may be assigned

• Using Chief Architect and AutoCAD, employee will design, review and finalize residential house plans under supervision of lead drafter and Operations Mgr.
• Attend weekly staff meetings and occasional consultations with clients.
• Occasionally assist with running prints, changing/loading large-format paper and and binding plans.
• Keep track of work day with an hourly/daily timesheet.
• Must be fluent in speaking, reading and writing the English language.
• Must be detail-oriented, have good math skills and must be able to read and work on computer screen for majority of the work day.

Qualifications: Experience in drafting house plans using AutoCAD is required. An Associate’s degree in CAD is highly preferred. You will be asked to submit samples of your design work.

Preferred Experience: Since the majority of residential plans will be designed in Chief Architect, experience with this program is preferred.

Physical Demands: Regularly required to walk or stand, use hands or fingers to operate the keyboard and mouse, stoop, talk, see and hear. Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds (packages/box of paper).
