We are a Commercial Design Build Firm specializing in the storage industry in search of an Architectural Drafter.

In this role you will work on different types of land and site development projects.

Prepare drawings using AutoCAD and Revit software platforms with working knowledge of commercial construction buildings. Responsible for drafting completed plans for permitting and construction as well as concept plans, advanced planning, and master planning under direction of others.

Help produce a fully coordinated set of project documents including plans and specifications, inspections at project construction locations as well as pre-construction diligence. Organize calculations to be included in design files, following project standards.

Develop cursory knowledge of applicable codes and standards and use of applicable CADD and Microsoft software.

Communicate and consult with architects, engineers, builders, trade contractors, and clients on plan revisions and change orders.

Interpret provided architectural and structural design plans to provide detailed shop drawings for a variety of large, self-storage facility buildings.

Typical plans will include post plans, partition plans, framing plans, concrete decking plans, roof plans, steel layouts, framing elevations, wall sections and details specific to the projects.

Plans to include accurate drawings listing of the all the metal components used in the fabrication of the building including all structural steel components, various decorative architectural panels used on the elevations, and various metal copings, roof components, required trim pieces, etc. necessary for the project.

Able to create schedules and takeoffs from the produced construction drawings used for ordering large steel packages.

Cross check to ensure consistency between architectural plans, engineering plans, and specifications specific to the project to minimize inaccuracies and increase efficiency in the construction process for the fabricators.
