Art Director Assistant assists the Art Director with all phases of design projects to ensure successful project completion. Monitors work through all stages of pre-production and production and facilitates solutions to any issues that may arise. Being an Art Director Assistant reviews the work of videographers, photographers, designers, and graphic artists. Requires knowledge of typography, layout, color, and visual communication. Additionally, Art Director Assistant requires a bachelor's degree of art or design. Typically reports to Art Director. The Art Director Assistant gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Ideal candidates are talented artists and educators, passionate about teaching and encouraging students to develop their creativity and skills in visual art and design through exciting and innovative lessons that build confidence in artists of all abilities. In addition to having excellent technical skill as artists, Baum School instructors must be personable, punctual, organized, have a positive classroom management strategy, and love working with people.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education, Studio Art, or related field preferred
- Expertise in the visual arts
- Computer proficient, particularly MS Office – Word, Outlook, Excel
- Experience with and enthusiasm for working with people
- Read, write, speak, and understand the English language at a level adequate to perform the job; Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus
- Strong organization, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently
- Applicant must complete PA Criminal and Child Abuse Check, and FBI Fingerprinting
- Applicant must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or test weekly

Physical Requirements
Position requires the ability to sit, talk and hear. Requires some walking and standing. Occasionally required to lift up to 25lbs. Some local travel required. Employee must have own transportation.

Summer Teaching Assistant
SUMMER TEACHING ASSISTANTS
Job Summary
The Baum School of Art seeks several full-time, temporary summer assistants for children’s art camps during the 2024 summer session. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in visual art, art education, and love working with kids of all ages and abilities. Additionally, assistants will be punctual, organized, personable, and have excellent customer service and communication skills.
Duties will include teaching assistance, supervision of children in our busy camp program, and various administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.
Hours will be scheduled between 8:30am—5:30pm, Monday—Friday, from late May/June to mid-August. Approximately 40 hours per week with occasional overtime.

Summer teaching assistants will be responsible for assisting the program coordinator and faculty members to ensure a smoothly running, fun, and memorable summer camp for students ages 5-17. Duties will include assisting students and faculty with camp activities, ensuring safety for all students, supervising lunch, interacting with parents, classroom and supply organization, and assisting the administrative staff with various duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in the arts, art education, and working with youth. Some experience in art, childcare, and administrative or customer service experience is required. Must be 18 years of age or older and complete federal and state criminal and child abuse clearances. Must be able to see, hear, speak, read, and write the English language. Must be able to move, walk, use stairs, bend, sit, stand, and lift up to 25lbs.
