Art Director Assistant assists the Art Director with all phases of design projects to ensure successful project completion. Monitors work through all stages of pre-production and production and facilitates solutions to any issues that may arise. Being an Art Director Assistant reviews the work of videographers, photographers, designers, and graphic artists. Requires knowledge of typography, layout, color, and visual communication. Additionally, Art Director Assistant requires a bachelor's degree of art or design. Typically reports to Art Director. The Art Director Assistant gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Job Summary
    Performs tasks which require minimal training and that can be learned relatively easily and involve few decisions. Positions are typically clerical or non-technical in nature and may involve basic computer usage.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    Duties and responsibilities will typically involve repetitious tasks such as making copies, filing, picking up and sorting mail, answering telephones, running errands, etc. This position will require limited contact with internal and external customers. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

    Other Duties and Responsibilities
    Greets customers

    Assists with inventory and displays

    Answers telephones

    Assists in rotating exhibitions

    Performs light cleaning

    Operates cash register

    Minimum Requirements
    Must be a current MSU student
    Must maintain satisfactory academic progress
    Must feel comfortable using nominal judgment and possess basic analytical or decision-making skills
    Must have the ability to understand and to follow written and verbal instructions
    Must be able to operate basic equipment such as copier, telephone, etc.
    No specific education or specialized skills are required
