Art Director Assistant assists the Art Director with all phases of design projects to ensure successful project completion. Monitors work through all stages of pre-production and production and facilitates solutions to any issues that may arise. Being an Art Director Assistant reviews the work of videographers, photographers, designers, and graphic artists. Requires knowledge of typography, layout, color, and visual communication. Additionally, Art Director Assistant requires a bachelor's degree of art or design. Typically reports to Art Director. The Art Director Assistant gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. The Art Director at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions blends storytelling, visual innovation, branding and design for visual communications and engagement with all RMU audiences. This individual personally designs and provides clear direction and leadership for the graphic design team in the creation of external and internal graphic design projects for marketing, communication, and brand awareness purposes.

Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
Required Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of visual design relating to marketing, brand management, and design with attention to business objectives.
Experience Required: A minimum of 5-7 years of of professional experience in graphic design, with three or more years in a management role. The ideal Art Director will bring a mix of artistic, marketing, and business expertise to the position, promoting the University to all of its valued stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a natural eye for design and a passion for delivering dynamic ideas that connect with all target audiences.
