Art Director directs and develops the creative design and execution of visual communications to meet an organization's marketing or advertising objectives. Provides internal clients with design standards, tools, and guidance on communicating corporate image, branding, and identity. Being an Art Director leads the design and production operations of all visual elements including publications, infographics, and social content, that are deployed across digital, interactive and print. Stays current on latest trends. Additionally, Art Director develops a network of vendors, freelance artists, and designers to utilize for project support. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in art, graphic design or equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Art Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Art Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Preparelessonplansfortheprincipal'scarefulandthoroughreviewwhicharecorrelatedtothemost current state curriculum standards and effectively use the lesson plans;
    • Useappropriategradelevel,data-driven,research-based,teachingstrategiestoteachtheappropriatecurriculumstandardstoallstudent,andsubgroupsofstudents;
    • Analyze the most recent, appropriate, formal state assessment results (including Value-Added and TVAAS Teacher Effect, when applicable) as well as the latest system-and school-level Report Card, studying identified strengths and weaknesses, then make appropriate adjustments in the classroom;

    • ServeasapositiveandactiveparticipantinProfessionalLearningCommunity(at the school level and system level,when applicable);
    • Assess frequently students' comprehension and application of expected curriculum standards;
    • Take responsibility for all students' mastery of applicable curriculum standards and significant academic growth;
    • Instruct students in subject matter, using various teaching methods, such as lecture and demonstration, and uses audiovisual aids and other materials to supplement presentations;
    • Prepareteachingoutlineforcourseofstudy,andassignslessonsandcorrectshomeworkpapers;
    • Administer tests to evaluates students' progress, records results, and issues reports to inform parents of student's progress;
    • Keep accurate attendance records;
    • Maintain discipline in classroom and in schoolyard;
    • Participate in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops;
    • Encouragestudentstomaintainsstandardsofclassroombehavior;

    Normal working environment.

    Qualifies for the PROFESSIONAL EXEMPTION from the requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) in regard to overtime. The employee is not entitled to the overtime rate of pay (time and a half) when the employee works over forty (40) hours in the defined work week (from Sunday 12:00 a.m. and continues through the following Saturday at 11:59 p.m.).


    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

    The employee is expected to complete a ten-month or two hundred (200) day work year.
