Art Manager manages the creative design and execution of visual communications to meet an organization's marketing or advertising objectives. Provides internal clients with design standards, tools, and guidance on communicating corporate image, branding, and identity. Being an Art Manager oversees the design and production operations of all visual elements including publications, infographics, and social content, that are deployed across digital, interactive and print. Monitors projects and timelines. Additionally, Art Manager stays current on latest trends. Develops and manages a network of vendors, freelance artists, and designers to utilize for project support. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in art, graphic design or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Art Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Art Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Job Summary
    :

    Create and manage the graphic design/marketing needs of the Fishers Art Center for a variety of media, including but not limited to print, video, digital/social media, web, in addition to assisting with design needs of events at the Indy Art Center.


    Job Responsibilities
    :

    • Create engaging and compelling designs/layouts for various print marketing materials, including but not limited to postcards, brochures, ads, posters, and signage adhering to the Art Centers brand guidelines and standards and budgets.
    • Manage and maintain the Fisher’s Art Center social platforms creating engaging content across a variety of social platforms.
    • Manage and update Fisher’s Art Center website.
    • Create engaging marketing emails and manage/maintain email list.
    • Photograph and shoot video of Art Center classes, programs, exhibitions, and events to keep image/video library up to date.
    • Create compelling short and long format video to be used in social media, broadcast, digital signage and other marketing/branding needs.
    • Complete other duties as assigned.
    • Stay updated with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies.

    Additional Job Functions:

    • All candidates are required to pass a background check
    • This is an onsite position and does not allow for remote work


    Competencies Required

    1. Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills required with a strong ability in public speaking, especially with artists and patrons in person and via phone and email.

    2. Relationship Building: Interpersonal skills which can be utilized to engage with artists, patrons, and fellow team members.

    3. Time Management: Strong ability to manage multiple projects and calendars to ensure on time completion working independently and as part of a team.

    4. Professionalism: Focus on positive communication and teamwork in order to execute and meet all job responsibilities.

    5. Integrity: Fosters an environment of honesty and reliability in the workplace.


    Additional Education/Knowledge/Skills Requirements
    :

    • Bachelor's degree in Visual Communications/Graphic Design or related field
    • 2-4 years of experience in graphic design
    • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite design software: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.
    • Video editing capabilities using Adobe Premiere.
    • Familiarity with the Adobe After Effects.
    • Attention to detail with a strong understanding of page layout, typography, white space management, and fundamental graphic design principles.
    • You have a high sense of urgency and focus, and you are driven to meet deadlines.
    • Demonstrated experience crafting designs for print, social media, and email campaigns.
    • You are a creative thinker and curious learner.
    • Applicant MUST submit portfolio/work samples to be considered or this position.

    Salary for this position is in the $40,000 range
