Art Manager manages the creative design and execution of visual communications to meet an organization's marketing or advertising objectives. Provides internal clients with design standards, tools, and guidance on communicating corporate image, branding, and identity. Being an Art Manager oversees the design and production operations of all visual elements including publications, infographics, and social content, that are deployed across digital, interactive and print. Monitors projects and timelines. Additionally, Art Manager stays current on latest trends. Develops and manages a network of vendors, freelance artists, and designers to utilize for project support. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in art, graphic design or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Art Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Art Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Essex Art Center is hiring! We are a community-based nonprofit based in Lawrence, Massachusetts focused on art education, community programming, and exhibitions of contemporary art. Founded in 1993, Essex Art Center inspires and sustains lifelong growth and learning for a diverse community of artists in Greater Lawrence. Our classes, events, and exhibitions harness the power of art to transform lives.
We are currently seeking part-time teaching artists for our summer youth program. Our Summer program is a six week commitment from July 15 - August 23 and a teaching artist can work up to 30 hours per week. Each course is a 1 week intensive that runs on one of the following schedules:
M - F: 9:00am - 12:00pm
M - F: 1:00pm - 4:00pm
It includes working with youth ages 5-13 in our daytime intensive programs and afternoon M - Th: 4:30pm - 6:00pm weekly programs. Compensation is $35/hour.
