Art Manager manages the creative design and execution of visual communications to meet an organization's marketing or advertising objectives. Provides internal clients with design standards, tools, and guidance on communicating corporate image, branding, and identity. Being an Art Manager oversees the design and production operations of all visual elements including publications, infographics, and social content, that are deployed across digital, interactive and print. Monitors projects and timelines. Additionally, Art Manager stays current on latest trends. Develops and manages a network of vendors, freelance artists, and designers to utilize for project support. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in art, graphic design or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Art Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Art Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Job Description for: HR/Operations Manager

    Summary:

    Art and Science Academy (ASA) is a 9-year old charter school district with an enrollment of approximately 330 students in grades K-8, and is located in Isanti, MN. ASA is dedicated to providing a quality education in a small-school environment utilizing arts and science integrated instruction.

    This position is responsible for directing and coordinating the administrative services in both schools and will manage a variety of essential administrative, human resources, and bookkeeping tasks.

    Human Resource Essential Functions 50%

    • Skyward Administrator: Assign employee access and security
    • STAR and all personnel reports:
    • Enter all new staff into MDE system for MDE compliance
    • Licensure Reporting on all teachers
    • Filing of Variances
    • Filing of Waivers
    • Fall and Spring submissions to MDE
    • Provide personnel policy and procedure guidance to employees and management.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements.
    • Administer benefits:
    • Ensure employee setup, and coordinate open enrollments, changes, and training for employee benefits programs.
    • Balance general ledger accounts
    • Manage leave programs:
    • Worker’s compensation
    • FMLA
    • ADA
    • Pregnancy
    • Employee Safe and Sick Time (ESST)
    • Manage and process payroll
    • Performs tasks to establish and maintain employee/payroll records.
    • Entering and auditing timekeeping records for compliance with established standards
    • Create and distribute internal communications regarding status changes, benefits, or company policies.

    • Maintain employee personnel records, including employment contracts.
    • Conduct exit interviews and recommend corrective action if necessary.

    Bookkeeping Essential Functions 35%

    • Accepts, collects and processes payments for school fundraisers, activity tickets, preschool and community education payments, or other monetary collections related to the school.
    • Accounts Payable and Purchasing:
    • Facilitate the accounts payable process, including general ledger and bank reconciliations.
    • Credit card oversight including ensuring receipts
    • Place school orders for office and meeting supplies, and other school-related items as requested.
    • BKDV and audit support
    • Contract (Vendors)Oversight and Maintenance with Director

    Supervision Essential Functions 10%

    • Supervise, mentor, train, and coach office staff and delegate assignments to ensure maximum productivity.
    • Performance management, including evaluations.

    Other duties as assigned 5%

    • Other duties as they arise in the normal course of business

    Education and Experience Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
    • 3-5 years human resources experience
    • Experience with HRMS/HRIS systems
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook) and/or Google Suite
    • PHR or SPHR certification preferred

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Demonstrated knowledge of the human resources field
    • Understanding of state and federal employment regulations
    • Awareness of OSHA regulations and compliance
    • Understanding of personnel and compliance records management
    • Basic bookkeeping skills
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Flexibility in working hours
    • Must be detail oriented
    • Must have the ability to multitask and prioritize job duties
    • Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time and lift up to 30 pounds.
    • Ability to pass a criminal background check
