Art Services Supervisor supervises all phases of creative development work from concept to completion. Oversees the creation of art, photo, copy, and layout project deliverables. Being a Art Services Supervisor ensures that all policies and standards that reinforce the organization's branding strategy and quality goals are followed. Supports a team of designers, copywriters, project managers and vendors with tools and resources required to complete assignments. Additionally, Art Services Supervisor monitors daily work progress and schedules, resolves issues to meet all production timelines. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Art Services Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Art Services Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. SUMMARY:The Food Services Supervisor oversees food service staff and ensures all standards of safety and customer service are met. They are responsible for maintaining a kitchen environment to the standards of state and federal regulatory authorities. In addition, they are responsible for providing quality food and presentation to all guests and patients and for optimizing the department budget by reducing waste. They provide excellent customer service to all patients and guests.
RESPONSIBILITIES:* Practices “First In, First Out” Method.
- Properly records all food temperatures using thermocouple and properly uses time as temperature control when necessary.
- Properly labels, wraps, and dates all items within the department.
- Maintains cleanliness throughout the kitchen and production areas during entire shift and ensures that all equipment is clean and in working order.
- Prevents eating surfaces of dishware from coming in contact with staff clothing.
- Handles cups/glasses on the outside of the container; and knives, forks, and spoons by the handles.
- Is able to demonstrate use of Green/Clean, and Red/Sanitizer buckets, cleaning up and leaving no visible signs of food items remaining on prep areas or in cabinet surfaces.
- Demonstrates the proper way to set-up 3 compartment sink by knowing temperatures of each sink (110°F), ratio of sanitizer strength (200ppm), and 60-second contact time for Quat Sanitize.
- Properly opens the kitchen as well as being prepared for the day or evening shift.
- Provides excellent and timely customer service to all patients, visitors, and employees: Smiles, says please and thank you, speaks in pleasant manner. Is helpful and looks for ways to assist.
- Maintains all food items in fresh and attractive manner.
- Understand and follow prescribed diet orders, menu spreadsheets, and corresponding recipes, as well as portion sizes and serving utensils for all diets on menu.
- Is able to demonstrate by showing the different levels of therapeutic diets.
- Understands menu substitutions and use of nutritionally equivalent foods.
- Provides required substitutions or modifications in meals for patients whose special needs restrict their diets.
- Monitors portion sizes of meal components to ensure that meals are nutritionally adequate.
- Is not argumentative. Accepts and acts upon constructive criticism in order to improve abilities.
- Consistently works to promote understanding, unity and teamwork within the department and organization.
- Does not participate in and discourages actions that are counterproductive to team members or team activity.
- Establishes and consistently maintains good working relationships with team members and customers.
- Demonstrates dependability and accountability in all assigned tasks.
- Knows who to contact if/ when questions regarding diets cannot be answered from diet manual.
- Determines amounts to be prepared and stocked via production sheets, patient counts, and other provided data.
- Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and facility regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
- Ensures that the staff are trained and evaluated on their knowledge of and adherence to compliance policies and procedures specific to their jobs.
- Demonstrates age-specific skills as required by position.
- Offers suggestions on ways to improve operations of department and reduce costs.
- Attends all mandatory education programs.
- Improves self-knowledge through voluntarily attending continuing education/certification classes.
- Maintains required competency levels as identified in written exams, skills checklists, skills labs, annual safety and health requirements as well as service excellence education hours requirements.
- Willing to cross-train in order to better assist co-workers and to provide maximum efficiency in department.
- Volunteers/participates on hospital committees, functions, and department projects.
- Manages resources effectively.
- Reports equipment in need of repair in order to extend life of equipment.
- Makes good use of time so as to not create needless overtime.
EDUCATION:* High School Diploma or Equivalent
- GED
OTHER INFORMATION:Two (2) years supervisory experience preferred.
