The Dayton Art Institute seeks a Guest Services Representative to deliver the highest level of customer service to members and guests of the museum by assisting with general admission, special exhibition, program and event ticket purchases and answering any questions they may have about the museum and surrounding Dayton area.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to communicating and implementing special offers and promotions; resolving member and guests’ grievances or other issues by determining optimal solutions; working all signature events, as well as setting up for these events; instructing and overseeing volunteers on expectations and responsibilities; and ensuring the guest services desk area is neatly arranged and meets the museum’s “photo ready” standards.
This is a full-time position with a Wednesday through Sunday work schedule. Hourly rate $17.00/hr.
Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least one (1) year of sales or customer service-related experience preferred, ideally in a non-profit organization; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous box office experience is desired but not required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs specifically Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Proficient or familiar with Altru or a comparable ticketing management system preferred.
- Cash handling experience.
- Knowledge of American Sign Language, or fluent in Spanish or other language(s) desired.
