Art Services Supervisor supervises all phases of creative development work from concept to completion. Oversees the creation of art, photo, copy, and layout project deliverables. Being a Art Services Supervisor ensures that all policies and standards that reinforce the organization's branding strategy and quality goals are followed. Supports a team of designers, copywriters, project managers and vendors with tools and resources required to complete assignments. Additionally, Art Services Supervisor monitors daily work progress and schedules, resolves issues to meet all production timelines. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Art Services Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Art Services Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Position Summary:
    Responsible for the day to day supervision of Facilities Services Team Leaders and Crews. Provides oversight for assigned Campus custodial, housekeeping and event support functions within a Team oriented work atmosphere. In addition to providing supervision, this position is required to perform duties as a working member of the Facilities Services Team. Supervisors must exhibit a thorough knowledge of custodial procedures and methods in order to maintain all Campus facilities to Willamette University's high standard of cleanliness at all times. Works closely with the Facilities Services Support Manager and other Facilities Services Supervisors to inspect and document the cleanliness of all buildings on campus and make and/or request repairs as required.

    JOB DUTIES
    • Assists the Facilities Services Manager in the oversight of Facilities Services contract cleaners to efficiently maintain all Campus facilities to the high level of cleanliness expected by the University.
    • Works as a member of the Facilities Services Team to meet department goals including performing custodial tasks as needed.
    • Works closely with Academic and Residential Staff to insure efficient time management and maintain building cleanliness.
    • Trains Facilities personnel in proper custodial methods, procedures and the safe use of equipment.
    • Will be required to routinely make on-the-spot decisions on supervisory issues and be able to handle emergency situations calmly and professionally.
    • Coordinates use of Campus space with the University Scheduling Office, the Manager of Facilities Services and primary Campus occupants to provide timely custodial services. Works closely with Summer Conference staff to meet scheduling requirements on building usage during summer conference operations.
    • Keep records of all materials used, take delivery of /sort / deliver supplies to all campus buildings.
    • Makes weekly inspections of all assigned buildings and provides written reports on issues and conditions found. Provides monthly written evaluations of assigned personnel and attends meetings related to Facilities Services. Meets daily with the Manager of Facilities Services to report problems and receive special instructions for the day.
    • Maintains lists of all guest rooms to insure they are cleaned and maintained daily, or as required for campus use. (Residential Supervisor only)
    • Ensures all employees practice safe work habits and informs the Manager of Facilities Services of all safety violations and unsafe conditions. Schedules and conducts monthly safety meetings, maintains appropriate SDS sheets for all assigned buildings, and will assist in maintaining the SDS Master Set.
    • Routinely inspects all equipment and immediately notifies the Manager of Facilities Services of all equipment or facilities in need of repair or replacement. Routinely places work requests on the University work order system as required.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.



    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    • Any combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. College degree preferred, but not required.
    • Able to work for extended periods of time while standing and walking and while exposed to dirt, infectious waste, obnoxious odors, dim-lighting and inclement weather.
    • Able to complete assigned duties in a timely manner.
    • Able to routinely inspect all buildings assigned and create written reports on conditions and issues found.
    • Able to evaluate custodial chemicals and equipment used in work areas and ensure all staff are fully trained on the use of each.
    • Able to handle emergency situations effectively and calmly.
    • Able to supervise in a Team based custodial operation. Must have computer skills to effectively correspond to emails and utilize spreadsheets.
    • Must be fully experienced in proper cleaning methods, materials, and operation and maintenance of custodial equipment, including repair work.
    • Must have a working knowledge of all hazards and safety precautions of the trade including Hazardous Communication Rules, and OR-OSHA rules and regulations; must have ability to attain working knowledge of Willamette University Safe Working Policies.
    • Must have a working knowledge of the various proper methods for flooring and carpet care.
    • Must be familiar with recycling programs and other sustainable trade efforts.
    • Ability to work extra hours, alternative shifts and flexible hours as needed.
    • Five years Custodial experience required. Previous Custodial Supervisor experience preferred.




    Physical Demands & Working Conditions

    As the Facilities Support Supervisor you may be required to frequently and safely lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to work from ladders and grids up to 50 feet in height and catwalks suspended from a ceiling. An employer-paid pre-placement physical required.

    Salary: $19.60 per hour
