Assembly Supervisor supervises a manufacturing production line that assembles fabricated parts. Creates daily work schedules, follows standard manufacturing procedures, and monitors work to meet product specifications and production targets. Being an Assembly Supervisor resolves production problems and answers workers' questions about processes, methods, or equipment. Delivers training for new processes or equipment and onboard new employees. Additionally, Assembly Supervisor conducts quality testing on completed assemblies to validate tolerances and product specifications. Reviews daily assembly production records to identify trends or potential performance issues. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. This position directly supervises a small group of production and support employees engaging in similar or closely related production tasks while also performing many of the same tasks.
1. Manage cell capacity to ensure customer needs and production plan are met.
2. Must be J-Standard certified to solder.
3. Assist in coordinating resource allocation with other Production Supervisors to achieve shipment goals.
4. Advise management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems.
5. Assist in the control of all related documents.
6. Assist in the development of cell policies and procedures.
7. Manage cross training, as well as, ongoing work process and policy trainings.
8. Provide leadership to the team, including leading team meetings.
9. Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and all instruments are calibrated.
10. Ensure all materials are current and not expired.
11. Conduct and discuss performance evaluations with direct reports.
12. Ownership of work policy enforcement, which includes disciplinary discussions and documentation as necessary.
13. Lead by example in work ethic, attitude, and following work policies.
14. Recommend changes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
15. Complete all required trainings including but not limited to S.H.E (Safety, Health, and Environmental), Ethics, Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking, Quality and all performance/product related trainings.
16. Adhere to AS9100 and ISO procedures and ISO compliance.
17. Other support and duties as assigned.
Required/Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
1. Above average to expert knowledge of cell area.
2. Must be J-Standard certified or able to obtain certification.
3. Above average computer skills including MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
4. Ability to thrive in an environment of constant change.
5. Must possess leadership skills.
6. Must possess troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
7. 2 year degree and 3 - 5 years of relevant work experience preferred.
8. Must understand AS9100 requirements.
9. Must have excellent organizational skills and ability to follow though; high standard of attention to details.
10. Understand Safety, Health, and Environmental regulations.
11. Understanding of ITAR and EAR regulations (preferred but not required).
