Assembly Supervisor supervises a manufacturing production line that assembles fabricated parts. Creates daily work schedules, follows standard manufacturing procedures, and monitors work to meet product specifications and production targets. Being an Assembly Supervisor resolves production problems and answers workers' questions about processes, methods, or equipment. Delivers training for new processes or equipment and onboard new employees. Additionally, Assembly Supervisor conducts quality testing on completed assemblies to validate tolerances and product specifications. Reviews daily assembly production records to identify trends or potential performance issues. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Assembly Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Assembly Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Job description: Sheet Metal Assembly Supervisor. This Supervisor will ensure that staff are appropriately organized, trained, and managed to meet our customer demands for steel and aluminum containers that are assembled primarily via riveting. The right candidate is an organized professional with strong interpersonal skills, who will ultimately be responsible for providing quality products in a timely manner to the most influential and recognizable names in defense.
The incumbent will have:
- 3 years of manufacturing management/supervisory experience
- a bachelors or associate's degree in business, engineering, or other related fields AND/OR 5 years of overall manufacturing experience
- proficiency with hand and power tools (ideally experience using them in a manufacturing/assembly environment)
- proficiency in interpreting blueprints/shop drawings
- experience planning production lines
- strong personnel management and communication skills, including strong integrity and the ability to deliver tough messages
- computer competency, specifically with the MS Office suite
Experience with Lean Six Sigma, ERP/MRP systems, and working within ISO9001 and AS9100 standards are pluses. Qualifications:3 years of manufacturing management/supervisory experience
