Assistant Athletic Director - Academic Compliance manages academic counseling unit for a university/college's athletic program. Ensures compliance with NCAA and conference rules and regulations regarding academics. Serves as a representative between the athletic program and prospective student athletes regarding academics.     REPORTS TO: Director of of Academic Services

    CLASSIFICATION: Exempt, non-union, salaried position

    WORK YEAR: Fifty-two (52) weeks, eight (8) hours per day

    SALARY: Based on education, experience, and skill level

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Associates degree or equivalent combination of experience and education
    • Minimum of three (3) years recent clerical experience, preferably in public education
    • Ability to develop and maintain effective, efficient office management systems with highly developed skill in organizing and planning
    • Ability to work with all staff in a professional and supportive manner
    • Ability to handle delegated administrative details and requests for information
    • Proficient in Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat and to a minimal extent Microsoft Office
    • Excellent written language skills; particularly spelling, punctuation, and grammar/usage
    • Ability to create and write clearly and concisely to include accuracy while keyboarding - 60 wpm preferred but not required
    • Excellent verbal telephone communication skills
    • Ability and willingness to work with minimal supervision, take initiative, makes decisions using sound judgment (as appropriate and within scope of duties), and accept responsibility

    DUTIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):

    • Maintains strict confidentiality in all matters
    • Perform a wide range of secretarial/administrative duties requiring independent judgment and decision-making for a productive, efficient, well-managed office
    • Manages all written and verbal correspondence; and maintains records and files
    • Prepares and organizes materials and meeting for a variety of committees, including accurate records for recommendations to the Board of Education
    • Assist in the preparation of instructional staffing documentation
    • Maintains budget accounts assigned to the Director of Academic Services
    • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Academic Services

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    • Reviews all written correspondence; complies information for calendars and reports
    • Organizes and prepares curriculum for K-12 Curriculum Committees
    • Maintains correspondence, calendar and data files for all professional development activities including yearly update for SCECHS (State Continuing Education Clock Hours) and DPPD (District Provided Professional Development)
    • Assists with the School of Choice program
    • Demonstrates good public relations in handling affairs of the office
    • Support other administrators and their assistants within the district
    • Look at Director of Academic Services Secretary Monthly Checklist
    • Cover Board of Education meetings when necessary
    • Create POs in AS400
    • Create yearly Grant Staffed Spreadsheet (included in preparation of instructional staffing)
    • Create and submit all Teacher of the Year information to the District and the MISD
    • Responsible for the 31A report that is due July 15th every year
    • Monthly credit card reconciliations
    • Create and update Mentor/Mentee spreadsheet and documentation
    • Organize District Improvement Summit
    • Cover expulsion hearings when necessary
    • School Messenger/Text Blast and School Closing when necessary
    • Annual Education Report-Create each building and district letters from the MiSchool Data Site
    • Create Private Non-Profit documents and letters
    • Coordinate communication with all departments in the Academic Services Office and among other departments
