Assistant Athletic Director - Academic Compliance manages academic counseling unit for a university/college's athletic program. Ensures compliance with NCAA and conference rules and regulations regarding academics. Being an Assistant Athletic Director - Academic Compliance advises athletes on academic decisions including course loads and schedules, major declarations, and degree progress. Serves as a representative between the athletic program and prospective student athletes regarding academics. Additionally, Assistant Athletic Director - Academic Compliance requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a institutional officer. The Assistant Athletic Director - Academic Compliance manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be an Assistant Athletic Director - Academic Compliance typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Stephens College is seeking a highly organized, student-centered leader with a passion for college athletics to serve as its next Assistant Athletic Director. This is a full-time, 12-month position responsible for supporting and assisting the Athletics Director in managing multiple athletics programs, including but not limited to operations, compliance, training, and recruitment.


    Responsibilities: 


    The Assistant AD will assist the Athletic Director in:

    • Refining and implementing the strategic direction of the Athletic department.
    • Identifying strategic partners who can contribute to athletic program development (i.e., sponsorships etc.).
    • Establishing and supervising an Association of Student Athletes organization, aligning with the athletic department and conference goals.
    • Monitoring the budget, including the scholarship process.
    • Serving as a game day administrator for select game days, ensuring that athletic facilities are well-maintained and meet safety standards for smooth operations and excellent spectator experiences.
    • Collaborating with campus constituents to increase awareness and support for athletic programs, including developing and establishing a campus-wide mentoring program for student athletes.
    • Maintaining and annually updating the Student Athlete manual.
    • Collaborating with the coaching staff to monitor student-athlete academic status and progress towards degree completion, including coordinating with the Student Success Center to support academic success and retention.
    • Providing support to the Sports Information Department, assisting with various tasks such as media relations, content creation, and statistical analysis.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
    • Working knowledge of NAIA rules and regulations
    • Strong skills in communication, organization, multi-tasking, efficiency, and customer service
    • Ability to work with a diverse constituency including students, parents, coaches, faculty, staff, administrators, and outside contacts.
    • Understanding of and commitment to the mission of the College.
    • Must meet and maintain Stephens Driver Qualification and Vehicle Safety Policy
