Assistant Athletic Director - Academic Compliance jobs in Virginia Beach, VA

• Meets with student-athletes to advise them on academically-related issues, objective-based study hall requirements and or any other issues.
• Advises a diverse population of student-athletes in regards to their academic progress towards degree. This includes pre-advisement for course registrations as it relates to their major requirements.
• Facilitates student-athletes academic progress by evaluating their needs and developing appropriate academic plans.
• Maintains student-athletes academic files that include a record of the advising activity that takes place during each visit.
• Monitors student-athletes regarding NCAA rules for satisfactory progress towards degree completion requirements.
• Supports academic and department programs/functions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree
• One-year experience working with student-athletes at the intercollegiate level.
• Experience advising/counseling student-athletes.

• Demonstrated experience working with individuals from diverse socio-economic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work non-traditional hours, including occasional nights/weekends, and travel.
• Ability to independently manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
