The Assistant Athletics Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Punahou School is seeking a Sports Medicine Assistant who, under the direction of the Head Athletic Trainer, will assist the Sports Medicine Department with the development and execution of programs for the prevention of injury, recognition and evaluation of health status; injury management, treatment, triage, and rehabilitation of student athletes. Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
- Establish and maintain protocols regarding environmental conditions; inspect playing fields for safe practice and play.
- Assist with pre and post game preparations: filling up water jugs, making ice bags, etc.
- Assist student-athletes in preparation for practices and games.
- Assist with administering first aid and wound care.
- Practice discretion and maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality.
Position Details:- Work Year: 12 Months
- School Year: 2023-2024
- Work Hours: Monday - Friday, Between 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Occasional Saturdays, Schedule may vary based on individual's schedule and operational needs
- Hourly Rate: $15.00/Hour
Minimum Qualifications:- High School Diploma. Currently enrolled in a bachelor program in a related field.
- CPR, AED & BLS Certified.
- General understanding of school based athletics.
- Establish and maintain protocols regarding environmental conditions; inspect playing fields for safe practice and play.
