Essential Functions
Job Summary
Function: This position is responsible for the growth and development of influential social media platforms to ensure that UTSA Athletics is positioned as San Antonio's nationally recognized NCAA Division I program. This includes designing and executing creative content to drive and enhance brand awareness, fan engagement, strategic communications and revenue opportunities.
Duties
Typical:

Develop the athletics department visual identity through creative assets.

Manage creative video and graphic design and broadcast staff.
-
Support overall vision and goals of the athletics department through content development and execution of storytelling, fan engagement and brand-building for distribution across the department's social and digital channels.

Manage, create and deliver video and content production calendars for athletics department and all 17 sports.
-
Develop and manage a creative service budget that is fiscally responsible while establishing a long-term vision for investment in equipment to stay at the forefront of emerging media and content production.

Assist with strategic communications plan to elevate the athletics department brand.

Work closely with other communications staff to develop strategic messaging and unique methods for engaging fans, media and prospective student-athletes.

Collaborate with other external unit to support ticket sales, attendance, sponsorship and fundraising initiatives and identify new revenue-generating opportunities.

Assist with sport-specific content planning meetings, and guide digital and creative staff in managing those relationships with sport programs to integrate into the department's social strategy and vision.

Review and maintain industry standards for creative content and equipment.

Assist with University licensing on athletics logo usage to ensure brand standards are executed.

Elevate the UTSA Athletics brand locally, regionally and nationally.

Maintain consistency in branding and messaging related to content and design.

Provide guidance on all facility branding enhancements.

Assist with the production of athletics department reports and presentations.

Develop departmental strategies consistent with the assigned departments continuous quality improvement program.

Manage and evaluate staff; ensure competency of staff through the development and/or presentation of educational programs and through on-going staff performance evaluations.

Identify unique opportunities to integrate and showcase sponsor activations in partnership with Roadrunner Sports Properties.

Oversee the design and strategy of goutsa.com, including design process, special projects, and user flow/experience.

Provide excellent customer service to internal and external constituencies.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree.

Four years of relevant work experience in creative services and/or digital communications.

Demonstrated track record of developing creative content through graphic design and /or video production.

Make data-informed decisions to grow, engage and manage online audiences.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
-
Proven ability to make innovative decisions.

Technological experience in digital and creative content production.

Familiarity with Google Analytics, Facebook Insights/Analytics, and Twitter.

Graphic Design skills (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).

Web and email design skills (HTML, CSS, CMS).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree.

Seven years of relevant work experience in creative services and/or digital communications in a intercollegiate athletics setting.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Proven ability to work as member of a collaborative, high performing team.

Experience hiring, training and managing staff.
