    Position Description

    Job Overview

    The Director of Athletics provides leadership, direction, and operational management for the Department of Athletics and all aspects of the University’s 14-sport intercollegiate athletic program (Men’s sports = six; Women’s sports = eight). The Director employs, supervises, and evaluates departmental personnel and provides opportunities for staff training and professional development. Direct and lead the intercollegiate athletics program to promote student-athlete academic success, personal development, and competitive excellence.

    Position Summary

    Director of Athletics (Administrator III)

    This is a full time, exempt position in the Management Personnel Plan (MPP). MPP positions serve at the pleasure of the President.

    This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 14 paid holidays are offered each year; 13 scheduled on specific days and a Personal Holiday that may be taken any time during the year.

    Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $170,000 - $185,000 per year

    CSU Classification Salary Range: $78,756 - $252,792 per year

    Salary is commensurate with the background and experience of the individual selected.
