The Assistant Director prescribes nursing care, delegates nursing activities, and coordinates the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care to provide optimal quality care, consistent with the hospital’s mission and nursing philosophy, objectives, standards and bylaws. The Assistant Director works with the Director in the coordinating and directing of staff and patient care activities for the promotion of quality patient care. The Assistant Director is responsible for the CQI activities of the unit and for ensuring all staff members attend required inservice education programs. Has full access to patient health information.
