Assistant Campus Recreation Director jobs in Greenville, SC

Join the vibrant team at Greenville County Parks, Recreation, & Tourism as a part-time Recreation Assistant for our Afterschool Program. We are seeking dependable, energetic, and responsible individuals to assist in creating a safe and fun environment for our community. This role involves assisting in the implementation of various programs, activities, and events for all age groups. You will have the opportunity to work primarily during evening and weekend rentals,, and events, contributing the overall success of our community centers.

Responsibilities

• Assist Center Managers and staff in implementing Center programs, activities, and events for youth, adults, and senior citizens.
• Inspect grounds and facilities for security and safety, ensuring the safety of all citizens and staff and the protection of Greenville County property.
• Provide leadership to groups and individuals participating in recreational activities.
• Assist in supervising the use of the facility by outside agencies, groups, or the general public.
• Perform general clerical work such as preparing daily attendance records, copying and filing documents, answering the telephone/taking messages, and other work/reports as required.
• Communicate effectively with Supervisors, Coworkers, participants, and the general public.
• Attend meetings, workshops, conferences, and trainings, as appropriate to enhance job knowledge and skills.
• Ensure compliance with and enforce all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, Greenville County Rec policies, procedures, and standards of safety.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years old at the time of employment.
• Ability to drive a County vehicle including a minibus to transport participants is a plus but not mandatory.

Compensation

The starting rate for this position is $12.61/hour.
