Plans and organizes campus-wide recreational programs for all students, faculty, and staff. Being an Assistant Campus Recreation Director may supervise student staff. The Assistant Campus Recreation Director supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. Middle School on the Move Assistant Director - Summer 2024
MSCR or Madison School & Community Recreation is Madison’s public recreation provider. We offer everything you would find in your typical community rec department in an accessible, inclusive setting. Programs include swimming, arts & enrichment, adult & 50 fitness, sport leagues, outdoor pursuits and more. As a department of the Madison Metropolitan School District(MMSD), we also provide afterschool and summer programming in Madison elementary, middle and high schools.
Program Description:
Middle School on The Move is an inclusive camp for all. Weekly themes for activities allow campers to choose the sessions that match their interests. Activities related to the week’s theme include afternoon recreational field trips like swimming, paddling, rope courses and visiting local parks.
Job Description & Duties:
Come spend an awesome summer outside with Middle School On The Move! The Middle School On The Move Assistant Director is responsible for assisting in the overall supervision and management of the camp. Duties will include staff supervision, evaluation of staff, enforcing camp rules and policies, communicating with parents, creating a positive and safe environment for campers, and emergency management. Additionally the Assistant Director is responsible for shopping within a budget for camp supplies and assisting in running camp activities.
