Assistant Campus Recreation Director administers and promotes all non-varsity, club (intramural) sports and wellness program. Plans and organizes campus-wide recreational programs for all students, faculty, and staff. Being an Assistant Campus Recreation Director may supervise student staff. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Assistant Campus Recreation Director typically reports to Campus Recreation Director. The Assistant Campus Recreation Director supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. - Develop and implement comprehensive parks and recreation programs and services
- Oversee the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of parks, facilities, and open spaces
- Manage the budget for the parks and recreation department
- Collaborate with community organizations to provide recreational opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities
- Coordinate with behavioral health agencies to develop inclusive programs and services
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including community members, local businesses, and government officials
- Supervise a team of staff members, providing guidance and support in their roles
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies
- Oversee administrative tasks such as record keeping, reporting, and scheduling

- Bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation Management, Social Work, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Proven experience in program development and management within the parks and recreation field
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively supervise staff members
- Knowledge of budgeting principles and experience managing department budgets
- Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities and behavioral health needs
- Excellent relationship management skills to collaborate with community organizations and stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficient in administrative tasks such as record keeping and reporting
