    Detailed Job Description
    • Manage daily operations of assigned groups of student clubs and organizations, and supervise undergraduate and graduate staff members and student leaders. Complete performance evaluations and mid-semester evaluations for staff members annually. Ensure that priorities are reflected in student organization budgets and oversee the financial and provide stewardship for all RIT resources. Lead strategic planning and visioning for the area in order to ensure that assigned organizations are supported through events, programs, education, recruitment, and administrative function.
    • Provide leadership and oversight in the development and implementation of regular communications to student organizations to support their ongoing success. Design and deliver a process and training curriculum to support student organizations in their needs including event promotion, communication, assessment and risk management. Supervise graduate student and undergraduate students. Collaborate with Divisional partners to design and implement trainings and support the CampusGroups as the primary platform for student engagement.
    • Serve as a campus resource about issues of assigned student organizations and lead and participate in campus-wide discussions about these topics (for example, anti-hazing and risk management). Engage with students, staff, faculty, and alumni and establish meaningful working relationships with key stakeholders. Position RIT as a national leader in student engagement and leadership through meeting and exceeding national benchmarking standards.
    • Provide one-on-one advising to students within the assigned communities, especially student leaders and staff, with a focus on accessibility and flexibility for meetings. Support student organization advisors with training and mentorship to ensuring continuity and success within the organization. Serve as direct organization advisor as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Education/Experience:
    • Masters degree in higher education. Counseling, social work, or related fields.
    • 2 years of full-time professional experience working with college-aged students or young adults delivering programming and outreach specifically focused on topics and issues related to student development and campus engagement.
    Skills:
    • Effective interpersonal, written, and electronic communications skills, including the ability to convey complex information in accessible terms to diverse or multicultural audiences
    • Ability to manage and maintain confidential and private information; uses confidential, sensitive and/or private records and information, protects information appropriately
    • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of constituencies within and outside of the university setting
    • Ability to understand, review, and interpret legal and risk management policies, compliance expectations, and university guidelines and procedures
    • Ability to establish, build and maintain effective working relationships based on respect, empathy and honesty with diverse groups and individuals
    • Budget experience and acumen
    • Experience with staff development and supervision
    • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with student leaders
    • Demonstrated ability in designing, implementing, and evaluating programming related to the student experience
    • Ability to take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in complex situations with competing priorities
    • Ability to maintain attention to detail and task completion in a fast-paced, student focused environment.
    • Computer competence using software and enterprise systems appropriate for the complexities of the role and its functions
    • Knowledge of Deaf culture, American Sign Language (ASL), or willingness to learn
