Job purpose
The individual in this position will assist with implementing our plan to increase growth through our existing distribution network and identify new growth opportunities with our customers. He/she should demonstrate a high level of sales savvy, initiative and team focus. This position requires prioritization and multi-tasking as well as information analysis. The Regional Sales Representative is an effective communicator with the ability to work with a variety of internal and external customers.
Duties and responsibilities
Essential Job Duties
· Responsible for delivering sales goals and company margin expectations with customer client base. Develops and maximizes sales opportunities within customer group.
· Delivers sales presentations to key clients in the products area.
· Meets with key clients, maintaining relationships, and negotiating and closing deals.
· Coordinates communication between sales department and other company departments including manufacturing and engineering.
· Identify annual tradeshow and customer meetings and communicate to marketing.
· Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product. Must be comfortable planning show booth and supporting the construction and tear down of the booth.
· Manages customer sales forecasting activities with the company
· Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.
· Participate in weekly interdepartmental sales meetings.
· Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, pricing, and margins
· Adheres to established customer call plan; updates and edits accordingly.
· Communicates with management to include regular phone calls, face to face meetings and weekly and monthly updates.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Business related field or equivalent relevant work experience.
· Minimum of two years sales experience preferred.
· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel.
· Approx. 40% domestic travel and 60% office time.
Working conditions
· He/she must have the ability to work weekends.
· The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet the employee works in an office environment with minimal exposure to noise or adverse conditions.
· The employee is periodically exposed to moving mechanical parts, elevated surfaces, airborne particles, heat, noise, and vibration.
Physical requirements
· This position is classified as Light work which means employees must be able to regularly lift or move up to 10lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
· The employee is required to have visual acuity to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned.
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand and walk.
