Job Summary:
Copper Pony is looking to fill a chef position in our cafe. This role includes ensuring our food meets safety, quality, and presentation standards; seasonal menu development as well as daily preparation and soup creations; sanitation and safety standards; inventory of stock and food ordering; and teamwork and collaboration with management and coworkers. Our menu includes sandwiches, soups, salads, pizza, baked goods, and full service coffee bar as well as seasonal items. Flexible scheduling, with 30-35 hours a week. Must be available weekends. Duties:
- Prepare and cook delicious and visually appealing meals according to recipes and customer preferences
- Plan menus and create new dishes to meet customer demands
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
- Manage inventory and order supplies as needed
- Collaborate with management to develop seasonal menus and special event menus
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Ensure all dishes are prepared in a timely manner and meet quality standards
- Assist with catering preparations as required
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, presentation, and menu planning
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team
- Experience in food service operations, including inventory management and cost control
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
- Shift management experience is preferred
