Assistant Pharmacy Director jobs in Kennewick, WA
Assistant Pharmacy Director assists department head in daily duties and assumes responsibility in his/her absence. Oversees pharmacists and provides pharmacy services. Being an Assistant Pharmacy Director compounds and dispenses medications and other pharmaceuticals. Typically requires a master's degree in pharmacy or doctor of pharmacy. Additionally, Assistant Pharmacy Director requires state Pharmacist License. Typically reports to top management. The Assistant Pharmacy Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Assistant Pharmacy Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Description
Under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist on duty, the Pharmacy Assistant will perform a variety of customer service and clerical tasks including typing, filing, stocking, delivery of medications to patient homes, processing refill prescriptions, taking phone calls and assisting customers relating to the operation of the pharmacy.
Requirements
Education: High school diploma/GED required.
Experience: One year experience in a customer service setting preferred.
License/Certification: Current Pharmacy Assistant license in good standing. Current driver’s license and auto insurance required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Bilingual (English/Spanish) language skills required. Strong communication, customer service, and computer skills required. Telephone etiquette, attention to detail and conflict resolution/problem solving skills. Ability to work required shifts and be flexible and cooperative about filling in or trading with others when vacations or sick days occur among the pharmacy staff.
