Assistant Pharmacy Director assists department head in daily duties and assumes responsibility in his/her absence. Oversees pharmacists and provides pharmacy services. Being an Assistant Pharmacy Director compounds and dispenses medications and other pharmaceuticals. Typically requires a master's degree in pharmacy or doctor of pharmacy. Additionally, Assistant Pharmacy Director requires state Pharmacist License. Typically reports to top management. Rate Range: $175,000-200,000
Position Summary: The Director is responsible for oversight of all pharmaceutical related functions. Provides clinical consultation and expertise in support of patient care processes. Participates in the development of clinical staff and education programs to develop staff. Manages the process of preparing, dispensing and monitoring medications as prescribed and ordered by a licensed physician and in compliance with applicable regulations and standards. Collaborates with other leaders and staff in development, management, and operation of the pharmacy.
Position Qualifications:
A. Education/Training: Graduate from an accredited School of Pharmacy with a Bachelors Degree required and a Pharm D. strongly preferred. Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
B. Experience: Minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years of pharmacy experience, five (5) of which must have been in hospital pharmacy in a leadership capacity.
C. Licensure, Registration or Certification: Current New York State Pharmacist license/registration
