Being an Assistant Pharmacy Director compounds and dispenses medications and other pharmaceuticals. Typically requires a master's degree in pharmacy or doctor of pharmacy. Additionally, Assistant Pharmacy Director requires state Pharmacist License. Typically reports to top management. The Assistant Pharmacy Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Working Director of Pharmacy Position
Working under the supervision of the VP for Pharmacy Management as well as Hospital Administration, fulfills all legal and regulatory requirements, including evaluation, selection, procurement and distribution of drugs, counseling and professional consultation. Ensures compliance with all state and federal regulations as well as policies of the hospital and PharmD on Demand. Interprets physician medication orders. Compounds and dispenses prescribed medications and other pharmaceuticals and related products for patient care by performing related duties. Responsible for supervising all onsite staff, including pharmacists and technicians.
Ability to represent the hospital and PharmD on Demand in a positive and professional manner; ability to maintain customer confidentiality at all times; ability to comply with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices; ability to exercise judgment; ability to interact with all types of people; ability to maintain remain professional in all situations; ability to use time effectively. Utilizes pharmaceutical equipment to include automated dispensing machines, Laminar Flow Hoods and compounding equipment.
