Assistant Pharmacy Director assists department head in daily duties and assumes responsibility in his/her absence. Oversees pharmacists and provides pharmacy services. Being an Assistant Pharmacy Director compounds and dispenses medications and other pharmaceuticals. Typically requires a master's degree in pharmacy or doctor of pharmacy. Additionally, Assistant Pharmacy Director requires state Pharmacist License. Typically reports to top management. The Assistant Pharmacy Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Assistant Pharmacy Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Pay Range:
Days: $16.94-18.70
Evenings: $18.04-19.80
Nights: $18.44-20.20
All evening and night shifts include shift differentials.
The base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. Shift differentials have been included in the range. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity and contracts.
Samaritan Medical Center’s pharmacy assistants are responsible for assisting a licensed pharmacist in the dispensing of drugs by getting drugs from stock and returning drugs to stock, locating patient medications, counting dosage units of medications, pre-packing medications, labeling medications, and delivering medications. Pharmacy assistants will work with all clinical units at Samaritan Medical Center.
