    About the role
    We are seeking a Retail Store Manager who will lead our Retail Team with the day-to-day operations of our gift shop while lending support to the entire museum team. This is a full-time, on-site role in Boston, MA.

    Please note, this is an hourly position, with reporting responsibilities to the General Manager of WNDR Boston. Pay starts at $25/hour.

     

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 2 years of retail sales in a customer-focused retail environment, or hospitality management. experience that includes large-scale inventory accountability.
    • Experience leading and motivating a sales-focused team.
    • Experience developing team member performance and coaching.
    • Value collaboration and acting as a team player.
    • High School Diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred, or substantial, related work experience accepted.
    • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including but not limited to opening and closing shifts, Saturday or Sunday shifts, and holidays.

    What a typical week might look like 

    • Leading a team of ambassadors to deliver a top-tier museum and retail experience. 
    • You want to take ownership to drive business opportunities through creative initiatives, customer loyalty, and team motivation and are always evaluating performance, striving to improve, and making suggestions of how the overall guest experience is achieved.
    • Obsessed with hospitality - create a retail environment that is true to WNDR’s brand and mission for each guest through a personalized journey enhancing our offerings and telling the story.
    • Manage and communicate merchandise opportunities to the Director of Retail, General Manager, and Assistant General Manager.
    • Communicate, manage, and execute all Marketing-driven initiatives and events within budget and according to all WNDR guidelines.
    • Responsible for accurately processing sales, exchange, and refund transactions with proper operation of the POS system, handling forms of tender with accuracy and respect. 
    • Ensure execution and maintenance of all Visual Guidelines as well as guarantee the visual presentation of the Store always meets or exceeds WNDR guidelines and communicate maintenance needs on time.
     

    Physical Requirements (with or without accommodations)

    • The ability to constantly walk and move about is required. This role involves frequent stationary standing, reaching, maintaining balance while walking, occasional kneeling, crouching, climbing, bending or stooping, pushing or pulling equipment such as shelving bays, dollies, carts, and as well as lifting, carrying, and placing items up to 50 pounds in weight at climbing heights up to 131 inches while using a ladder.
