      Assistant Principal – Middle School

      Monument Academy is hiring a Middle School Assistant Principal for the East Campus.

      Job Summary: The Assistant Principal reports to the Middle School Principal and works as a team member of the administrative staff. The Assistant Principal, in conjunction with the East campus admin team, helps organize, administrate, supervise, and evaluate various aspects of the Monument Academy Middle School.

      Primary Duties

      • Monitor/Supervise Campus Activity – Monitor and observe student activities, classrooms, lunchroom, hallways, campus grounds, assemblies, and field trips. Supervise various student activities including events 1 or 2 evenings a week.

      • Teaching Staff - Supervise and Evaluate assigned teaching staff in the building.

      • Discipline of Students – Handles discipline of students as assigned, conferring with the Principal on matters of a serious nature.

      • Demonstrates positive character as a role model for students, staff, and parents.

      • Meets with grade level teams periodically to discuss student learning and grade level dynamics.

      • Works with parent concerns in conjunction with other staff.

      • Is available to help with high school issues if needed as part of the administrative team.

      • Collaborates with all employees in the building to help create a positive environment of education excellence.

      • Other duties deemed necessary to administrate a high functioning school.

      Qualifications

      • Master’s degree in education or education related field

      • Colorado Principal License

      • Commitment to support the Mission, Vision, and Excellence of Monument Academy

      Experience

      • 7 years of teaching/education experience

      • Experience with Middle School students preferred

      • Charter School experience preferred

      • Administration experience preferred

      • Experience with Core Knowledge and/or Classical education preferred

      • Experience with Capturing Kids Hearts’, Love and Logic, or similar programs preferred

      Working Conditions

      • Interacts with students, parents, staff, administrators, and community

      • Interacts with Monument Academy Board of Directors

      • Interacts occasionally with District 38 personnel

      • Functions in various locations including offices, classrooms, gymnasiums, athletic fields, parking lots and playgrounds.

      • Participates in school activities and travels periodically to conferences.

      Salary Range: Salary range is $60,000 to $80,000 based on education, experience, and alignment with Monument Academy educational philosophy and programs. The Assistant Principal will receive a 210 day “At-Will” agreement.

      Starting Date: Position begins July 1, 2022. Position is open until filled.
