Position Summary:
The Assistant Director Marketing Communications supports the strategic marketing and communications activities of the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Services (OVPSAES) including internal and external communications to drive an increased awareness of the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Services (SAES) at the University of Northern Colorado among students, families, alumni, campus colleagues, and other stakeholder groups.
Job Duties:
External
Communications
Develop and implement
marketing communications plans for the Division of SAES, division units and
leverage organic and commercially available communications tools to increase
awareness among students, families, alumni, campus colleagues, and other stakeholder
groups of Student Affairs' services/programs/offerings.
Execute strategic marketing communications for the Division of SAES to both internal and external audiences that includes promoting the vast division capabilities with a strong focus on student engagement, support, and success to prospective and current students and their families via effective communication tools including copywriting, website content, newsletters, marketing materials, and social media campaigns that are consistent and in line with the marketing and communication goals of Student Affairs and division units.
Collaborate with communications professionals within the Division of SAES and external to division to develop and amplify compelling joint story telling of our mutually beneficial partnerships.
Communicate the Division of SAES capabilities and success stories through news media, press releases, social media, newsletters, reports, flipbooks, and other innovative mediums.
Develop marketing campaigns with Admissions/Enrollment Management with the goal of attracting new students and supporting division business units (housing and dining).
Create marketing campaigns and materials for Division of SAES events and campus special events.
Develop and maintain the Division of SAES website and assist with website content questions from campus marcom staff.
Contributes to the overall success of the Division of SAES by performing other essential duties as assigned.
Internal Communications
Setup, organize, and manage
internal communication/project management tools like Monday.com, PhotoShelter,
Microsoft Teams, One Drive, and SharePoint.
Prepare and send out division emails via Slate or other campus identified platforms.
Lead the Division communicators cross-division team and monthly in-service training to build the capacity of division communicators to deliver high quality campaigns, materials, and presentations.
Create briefs and marketing packets for Division of SAES and campus leadership for stakeholder visits.
Ensure timely and accurate responses to marketing and communications related requests for information from Division of SAES Associate Vice Presidents, unit directors, and internal and/or external stakeholders.
Select and create logoed promotional items based on university guidelines.
Conceptualize design outcomes and layouts for stewardship and annual reports, flipbooks, and campus overview documents by keeping abreast of design trends.
Mentoring
and Supervision
Recruit and hire social media
interns as needed. Train, supervise, and oversee task assignments for students.
Guide social media interns to create engaging messaging by strategizing the best way to visualize content.
Share best practices for communicating to Division of SAES units and departments through mentorship to marcom teams by supporting the growth and development of their marketing efforts.
Data
and Reporting
Track marketing analytics and
report on effectiveness of communication strategies.
Compile division-wide
programmatic data, images, videos and analyze and create content for
promotional use and/or stewardship reports.
Create annual reports for the
Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Services and support any other
division units as needed.
