Duties:
- Implement a variety of activities and programs to meet the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of our residents
- Plan and organize events, outings, and special celebrations
- Coordinate with staff, volunteers, and community resources to facilitate activities
- Provide guidance and support to residents in participating in activities
- Ensure activities are safe, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive
- Maintain accurate records of activity participation and resident progress
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate activities into the overall care plan
- Stay updated on current trends and best practices in aging issues counseling, social work, caregiving, dementia care, and event planning
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a nursing home or assisted living facility
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with residents, families, staff, and community members
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously
- Understanding of ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) and their impact on resident well-being
- Familiarity with dementia care principles and strategies
