    The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion EDUCATES, EMPOWERS, and ELEVATES Jefferson students through cultural initiatives, diversity education, and leadership development. The administration is committed to advocating for students who belong to historically marginalized groups and creating an inclusive environment that encourages students to explore and embrace their identity.
    The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Jefferson Community and Technical College is seeking an innovative and passionate student champion to serve as the Assistant Director for International Student Support.

    Job Duties:

    This position is responsible for creating and implementing engagement opportunities and support services for international students, and reports to the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
    Purpose:
    The purpose of this position is to provide opportunities for students to develop relationships that foster a sense of belonging and connect with mentors who affirm their sense of identity, enhancing their experience and resulting in academic success.

    Responsibilities:
    • Lead retention programs and initiatives designed for Latinx, Immigrant and International
    Students
    • Coordinate the Displaced Student Scholarship Initiative and represent Jefferson in the Council on Postsecondary Education’s Community of Practice
    • Serve as Primary Designated School Official and liaison for students with a F1 Visa status, in coordination with the Office of Admission
    • Develop support programs, such as a summer bridge, for new Latinx, immigrant, and refugee students
    • Provide referrals and serve as a liaison to other college support services
    • Supervise and train interns and student workers as needed
    • Work closely with ESL Program Coordinator to maintain communication and a collaborative relationship
    • Maintain and build relevant partnerships with community organizations
    • Serve on college committees
    • Co-Chair the Global Awareness Committee and International Education Week
    • Advise student organizations
    • Actively contribute to, and participate in, planning, programming, and all operational aspects of the ODEI team.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Associate degree and three years related experience, or equivalent are required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Preferred candidates will have a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in student affairs/college student personnel, counseling psychology, social work, communication, global studies, or other related fields.
