Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Florida State Certified Activities Director to join our team. As the Activities Director, you will be responsible for planning and implementing engaging recreational activities for our residents. This role requires excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a passion for providing quality care to seniors in an assisted living and memory care setting.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a diverse range of recreational programs and activities to meet the physical, emotional, and social needs of our residents
- Coordinate and schedule group activities, outings, and special events
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure activities are tailored to individual resident preferences and abilities
- Provide support and assistance to residents during activities, including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) if needed
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities
- Evaluate the effectiveness of activity programs and make adjustments as necessary
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines related to activity programming
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in recreational therapy, social work, or a related field preferred
- Previous experience working with seniors in an assisted living or memory care setting
- Knowledge of dementia care principles and techniques
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with residents
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
