Assistant Student Activities Director assists student activities director in developing, implementing and evaluating a comprehensive program that delivers quality and diverse campus student activities. Monitors activities of the student government and student clubs. Being an Assistant Student Activities Director typically requires a bachelor's degree. Our goal at SEARK Housing is to provide a safe and engaging community where students feel motivated to succeed academically, and positively connect with their peers outside of the classroom. We are seeking Resident Assistants (RA’s) to help in cultivating integrity and active citizenship. Resident Assistants will facilitate regular community gatherings, encourage continued growth and involvement.
RAs are appointed to the position for one full academic year (consecutive Fall and Spring semesters). The employment period includes all designated training periods prior to residence hall openings as well as designated closing periods during breaks and following final exams.
Responsibilities
· Assists residents in their transition to the university and residence life.
· Develop Positive relationships and maintain quality contact with each resident.
· Manage a residence hall floor of diverse undergraduate students.
· Enforce University, Housing and Dining policy, procedures, and rules.
· Serve in an on-call rotation (Includes nights and weekends).
· Respond to and provide assistance during emergency and crises situations.
· Serve as a positive role model to residents, and staff peers.
· Serves as a liaison between residents and University Administration
· Submit timely incident and maintenance reports.
· Respond to policy and safety violations.
· Implement regular community engagement programming.
· Assist with Housing Administrative functions.
· Assist with Opening and Closing of Residents Halls
· Support residents on various personal and academic issues
· Help residents identify resources for various needs.
Qualifications
· 2.75 Grade Point Average (GPA must be maintained throughout employment
· Strong Problem Solving
· Leadership experience
· Campus/Community Involvement
· Strong Organization and Time Management Skills
· Be able to fulfill a full academic year appointment.
