Assoc. Professor - Accounting teaches courses in the discipline area of accounting. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Assoc. Professor - Accounting provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Assoc. Professor - Accounting typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks.     CobbFendley is seeking an Accounting Administrative Assistant in our Houston, Texas office.
     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    The successful candidate’s most important qualifications include the following.

    • At least a High School Diploma or GED.
    • 2-3 years of previous Accounting experience, a plus.
    • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written), math skills and financial knowledge (debits/credits).
    • Ability to work with others to answer questions and provide information.
    • Computer software skills including spreadsheets.
    • Knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint software or other accounting platform, a plus.
    • Honesty (dealing with cash) and no criminal history related to financial transactions. 
    • Organized and self-motivated.
    • Knowledge of basic office equipment.
    • Regular, dependable attendance.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Set up projects in Deltek Vantagepoint.
    • Receive, date, and upload accounts payable invoices for approval.
    • Match vendor payments to invoices.
    • Reconcile vendor statements, research any discrepancies.
    • Maintain files for paid invoices.
    • Performs other duties as assigned or required.
    • Work in a collaborative team environment and deliver accurate work product that is error free. 
    • Adhere to CobbFendley’s safety standards to uphold a safe and efficient environment.
    • Maintain a professional attitude and fulfill responsibilities with integrity.


     
    If and when the duties and responsibilities change and develop, the job description will be reviewed and subject to changes of business necessity.

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time. 
    • Mobility within the office including movement between floors and workstations. 
    • Repeated motions (e.g., typing, reaching, bending, lifting, and carrying). 
    • Communication with other employees and clients.

     

    ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

    • Most work is performed in a professional office environment. Some trips to client offices and job sites for observations will be required. 
    • Job site observations factors could include: walking and climbing on uneven surfaces, exposure to outdoor environments and extreme weather (heat and freezing temperatures), noise exposure, driving for extended periods of time, exposure to allergens (e.g., pollen, dust, cedar, sumac, poison ivy), exposure to construction and traffic work zones, possible hand and power tool use, and extended periods of Personal Protective Equipment use. 
    • Extended use of electronic devices (e.g., computers, printers, copiers, scanners, plotters, and telephones).
    • Use of cutting tools and equipment (e.g., plotting equipment, rotary paper cutter).

     

    EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

    • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM CST.
